Fist Wild Reels and the punch rule

A Fist belongs to one team, shown by its colour. It fires only if the reel it would create is part of at least one win; then it expands from where it landed up to the top of its reel and turns everything it covers wild. One Fist per reel at a time is the limit.

The multiplier comes from what the Fist hits on its way up. Each fighter of the opposing team, and each Wild, that the expanding reel punches adds a multiplier to that reel; several punches on one reel add up, and so do several Fist reels in the same win. The possible values run 2x to 10x, then 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x and 200x.

A Fist that punches nothing still helps as a plain wild reel. On spin 32 of our on-screen session a Fist reel on reel one carried a line with no multiplier and the spin paid €7.20.

With four rows and 14 lines, no five-of-a-kind pays more than 10x before multipliers; the Fist reels do the heavy lifting.

Throwdown! bonuses: teams and Victory Levels

FS scatters start the free spins. Three give the Throwdown! Bonus and four give the Ultimate Throwdown! Bonus, each with 10 spins, plus 2 spins for two more scatters and 4 for three.

Inside the bonus every punch scores a Victory Point for the Fist's team. Three points award a respin with an Epic Drop and lift that team's Victory Level by one. The level sets the size of the drop: at 3+ at least three Fists of the team's colour land, at 4+ at least four, and at 5+ all five reels get one. Fists from an Epic Drop do not score towards the next level.

Our bought Throwdown! was a poor one. It cost €200 and returned €37.60 over ten spins, 18.8x the bet and less than a fifth of the price. In the recording both team counters above the grid show level 3 from the first spins, as the rules promise for this bonus.

500 spins in the log

The log comes from 500 rounds at €2.00 that our logging script sent straight to the demo server, with no purchases.

Fist of Destruction paid often, on 34.8% of spins, but almost never much: five spins reached 10x and none reached 50x. Spin 150 was the strongest of the base game at 32.8x, and the only bonus, a Throwdown! on spin 236, paid 41.2x. The balance never once rose above the starting €5,000 and finished at its lowest point; the run returned 61.2% of the money staked.

Read that as a short-sample warning rather than a verdict on the maths. Hacksaw rates the game 4 out of 5, and these 500 spins produced no win of 50x or more.

Five options. Three FeatureSpins modes are charged on every spin until you switch them off; the two Throwdown! cards buy the bonuses outright.

Epic Drop FeatureSpins are the expensive curiosity: 150x per spin for at least four Fist symbols on every spin. The Throwdown! card returns 96.25%, the lowest of the five, and the Ultimate version 96.35%, the highest.

Our view

The punch rule is the best idea here: you can see exactly why a reel got its multiplier, and the team race in the bonus gives each free spin a purpose. Our session was unkind, with a long slow slide and a bought bonus that returned less than a fifth of its price, so try the demo for a few hundred spins before deciding whether its rhythm suits you.
