Reign of Rome · Hacksaw Gaming · RTP 96.27% · max win 15,000x · checked on the demo server

Released April 2025Demo client 1.27.2

Tribute symbols in Reign of Rome carry values from 1x to 500x or multipliers from x2 to x25, and they pay only when they line up as a LootLine. Regular symbols earn far less. Five eagles on a line, the best of them, pay 10x the bet, and the reels carry no Wild. Hacksaw Gaming's April 2025 release runs 19 paylines across a 5x5 grid and caps every round at 15,000x the bet. Hacksaw's demo of it, served from the studio's own servers, plays free below without any registration.

Not one Tribute is in view when client 1.27.2 opens in the window above, with €5,000.00 of virtual credit and a €2.00 stake. That stake stayed in place for our log and for every frame below.

Where does the money in Reign of Rome come from?

Mostly from Tribute symbols on LootLines, which paid €1,112.00 of the €1,244.20 returned in our 500 spins. A LootLine is a winning payline of Tributes, read from reel 1 like any of the 19 lines, and its values are combined one by one from left to right. Adding values (1x to 10x, or 15x to 500x on Revealing Tributes) join the total and Multiplying values (x2 to x5, or x6 to x25 when Revealing) multiply it, except on reel 1, where a multiplier counts as Adding.

Added from the left, multiplied where they stand

The order shows on spin 116, our best base spin. A 5x on reel 1 and a 1x on reel 2 made 6, and an x3 on reel 3 turned that into 18x. The same x3 closed a second line behind a 3x and the same 1x, worth 12x. Those two LootLines were the whole win, €60.00 or 30x, with no symbol line.

Reign of Rome Tributes without reel one
A €6.80 spin leaves six Tributes on the grid, a gold x2 on reel 2 among them, but none on reel 1, so no LootLine can form.

GAME INFO counts a Multiplying value in the left-most position of a LootLine as Adding. Our first bonus put a Revealing x10 there: 10, then an x6 on reel 2 for 60, then a 4x for 64x, or €128.00.

Tributes land far more often than they pay. In 469 of the 498 base spins the first drop held at least one, and in 335 it held three or more, yet only 22 spins paid a LootLine.

Swords, lions, eagles and no Wild

Three to five of a kind pay along the 19 lines from the leftmost reel, starting at 0.2x the bet for three card ranks. A line pays only its highest win.

Reign of Rome paytable with eagle payouts
At €2.00, five of a kind pays €5.00 for J, Q, K or A, €10.00 for goblets or swords, €15.00 for helmets or lions and €20.00 for eagles.

After every win the winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in until a drop pays nothing, and Tributes on a LootLine leave too. One free spin in our first bonus paid two 19x LootLines that way, then a 100x one on the next drop.

Path to Power, This Is Rome and a third bonus off the menu

Path to Power, from three FS symbols at once, is 10 free spins that keep the base game's rules and raise the chance of high Tribute values. Our two natural rounds showed 8 Revealing Tributes (a blue plus or a red X in GAME INFO) on the first drops of 20 free spins, as many as the base game's first drops showed in 498 spins, and none of those 8 joined a LootLine. In every bonus, two further FS symbols are worth 2 more spins and three are worth 4. Neither round got any.

With four, This Is Rome begins and adds a LootBar of five slots under the grid, one per reel, each starting at 0x. On a spin where at least one Tribute wins, the Tributes left out of the LootLine go into their reel's slot, and once all five slots hold a value they pay by LootLine rules and are cleared.

Fight for Glory, the hidden third bonus, needs five FS symbols at once and is not sold. Its slots start at 20x each, missed Tributes add to them, and the whole bar pays once, after the last spin.

Reign of Rome Path to Power trigger
After our €200.00 purchase, three FS symbols glow on reels 2, 3 and 5 and the balance reads €4,796.00.

Our bought Path to Power paid nothing for six free spins and €1.60 on the seventh. On the eighth a cascade dropped x3, x3 and x2 across the top row from reel 1. The first x3 counted as 3, so 3 × 3 × 2 made 18x, or €36.00, and the last two spins paid nothing.

The whole €200.00 round, from six blank spins to the x3, x3, x2 LootLine on the eighth and TOTAL WIN €38.00.

That left the round at 19x the bet. It had cost 100x.

124.4% back, nine tenths of it from LootLines

We bought nothing in the log. The 498 spins without a bonus returned €536.80, 54% of their cost, and €414.00 of that came from LootLines.

Spin 175 came straight after the low, €4,845.20 on spin 174, and opened Path to Power. Its first three free spins paid €3.20. The fourth and fifth brought five LootLines worth €460.00, the last of them 10x, x5 and x2 for €200.00, and the closing five paid nothing. In all the round paid 232.4x.

In spin 249 nine free spins brought €4.60, then on the tenth a Revealing 50x sat inside two LootLines, 59x and 60x, worth €238.00. A 10x LootLine on the next spin set the session high, €5,453.40. It finished at €5,244.20.

Five cards, two of them selling Tributes

Three cards out of five are FeatureSpins, billed every spin while switched on. BonusHunt FeatureSpins at 3x multiplies the bonus chance by five. Shield Wall! FeatureSpins and Spears Out! FeatureSpins, 50x each, sell Tributes instead: Shield Wall! guarantees at least three winning Tributes a spin, Spears Out! at least three Tributes including a Revealing one, with no promise of a win. FS symbols cannot land in either mode.

Other games here that add, then multiply

Adding and Multiplying values also mix in Hounds of Hell, where they are read upwards from the bottom of a reel. In both games a multiplier with nothing in front of it counts as its own number.

Duel at Dawn shares the 5x5 grid with 19 paylines, the 15,000x cap and volatility 4 out of 5, and pays through wild reels instead.

Which Tributes count and which are lost

Five rules, two of them shown on our own spins.

Does a LootLine have to start on reel 1?

Yes. Lines start at the leftmost reel, and all 35 LootLines in our log began there. Of 135 base spins with three or more Tributes but none on reel 1, only one paid a LootLine, after a cascade.

What is a Multiplying Tribute worth on reel 1?

Its own number, added. That is how the x3, x3 and x2 of our bought round made 18x the bet.

Does Shield Wall! FeatureSpins guarantee a win?

It guarantees at least three winning Tribute symbols on every spin, so a LootLine each time, for 50x the bet per spin. The smallest such line, 1x, 1x and 1x, pays 3x.

Where do Tributes go in This Is Rome when they miss the line?

Into the LootBar slot of their own reel, but only on a spin with at least one Tribute win. A spin without one stores nothing.

When does the Fight for Glory LootBar pay?

Once, after the last free spin. Every slot starts at 20x and grows with each missed Tribute on its reel.

Regular symbols paid €132.20 in our log and LootLines everything else. Each bonus turned on one or two of its ten spins, and Hacksaw's volatility rating of 4 out of 5 matches what we saw.
