Le Bandit Demo: Free Play and Full Review
Updated Demo client 1.26.1Hacksaw Gaming, August 2023
Le Bandit is the Hacksaw Gaming slot from August 2023 where a raccoon called Smokey robs the back streets of Paris on a 6x5 grid. Clusters of five or more symbols pay and cascade, every winning position turns into a Golden Square, and a Rainbow symbol converts those squares into coins worth 0.2x to 500x the bet. The cap is 10,000x.

What RTP does Le Bandit have?
Le Bandit returns 96.34% in its default version, a figure Hacksaw calculated over ten billion simulated rounds. Casinos may also run it at 94.23%, 92.17% or 88.36%, so the Game info screen is worth a look before playing for money. Buying a feature barely moves the number: it ranges from 96.28% for BonusHunt FeatureSpins to 96.40% for All That Glitters Is Gold.
How a Le Bandit spin pays
A win needs at least five matching symbols touching each other horizontally or vertically, anywhere on the 30 positions. Hacksaw calls the clearing rule Super Cascade: when a cluster pays, every regular symbol of that type leaves the grid, not only the ones in the cluster, and new symbols fall into the gaps. The cascade repeats until nothing new connects.

Card ranks are the weak end of the paytable and the top hat the strong one. Values below are multiples of the bet, read from the in-game paytable at €2.00, so a 13-symbol top hat cluster is worth €200 at that stake.
| Symbol | 5 | 7 | 8 | 9-10 | 11-12 | 13+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10, J, Q, K, A | 0.1x | 0.3x | 0.5x | 1.5x | 5x | 15x |
| Bear trap, cheese | 0.3x | 0.5x | 0.7x | 2.5x | 7.5x | 25x |
| Beer, baguettes | 0.5x | 1x | 1.5x | 5x | 15x | 50x |
| Top hat | 1x | 2x | 3x | 10x | 30x | 100x |
The Wild, drawn as a torn "Wild Reward" poster, stands in for every paying symbol. Six-symbol clusters sit between the columns shown: 0.2x for card ranks up to 1.5x for the top hat.
Golden Squares and the Rainbow
Cluster wins are small on their own; the money in Le Bandit comes from what they leave behind. Each paying position becomes a Golden Square, and if a Rainbow symbol is on the grid once the cascades stop, every square opens. A square shows a Bronze Coin (0.2x to 4x), a Silver Coin (5x to 20x) or a Gold Coin (25x to 500x), and sometimes a Four-Leaf Clover or a Pot of Gold.

The order matters. Clovers fire first and multiply the coins and pots on neighbouring squares by x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10. Pots then collect every coin and every other pot in view, top row first and left to right, and keep the total. After the last pot has collected, the remaining squares open again, and the cycle repeats until no new pot appears. In the base game the squares are cleared when the spin ends.

Without a Rainbow nothing opens, which is why so many base spins end with a grid full of gold frames and a tiny cluster payout. When the Rainbow does turn up the jump is large: in our logged run the best base spin, number 127, paid €91.60, 45.8x the stake.
Three free spins modes, one of them hidden
FS scatters, drawn as a red instant camera, decide which bonus you get: the more land together in the base game, the better the round. The main difference between them is how long the Golden Squares survive.
| Bonus | Trigger | Spins | Golden Squares |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luck of the Bandit | 3 FS | 8 | Stay between spins until a Rainbow activates them; 4 FS during the round upgrade it to the next mode with 4 extra spins |
| All That Glitters Is Gold | 4 FS | 12 | Stay for the whole bonus and can be activated again and again |
| Treasure at the End of the Rainbow | 5 FS | 12 | Stay for the whole bonus, a Rainbow lands on every spin, no Bronze Coins |
In the first two modes, 2 more FS symbols add 2 spins and 3 add 4. The third mode cannot be bought, so five scatters in one base spin are the only way in.

We bought one Luck of the Bandit for €200, 100x the bet, to record it. It finished at €85.60, which is 42.8x the stake and less than half of the price: a fair reminder that the bonus is a lottery ticket, not a guarantee. The whole round is in the video below, with sound.
What 500 logged demo spins looked like
A script played 500 base spins at €2.00 on Hacksaw's demo server on 21 October 2026 and saved the stake and the win of every round. Nothing was bought in this run.
Le Bandit pays often but small: almost a third of spins returned something, yet the median win was 0.3x, less than half the stake. Thirteen spins paid 10x or more. Both bonuses were Luck of the Bandit: spin 53 brought €29.40 on the trigger spin and €137.00 over its 8 free spins, 83.2x in total, while spin 101 added 14.6x. The longest run without any win lasted 13 spins.
The sample returned 88.5% of the money staked. That is no verdict on the 96.34% RTP: 500 spins are far too few, and the single bonus on spin 53 alone moved this sample by more than 16 percentage points.
Le Bandit bonus buy prices
The buy menu holds four cards. The two FeatureSpins options charge a multiple of the bet on every spin until you switch them off; the two bonus buys start free spins at once.
| Option | Price | At €2.00 | RTP | Volatility |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BonusHunt FeatureSpins Each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus game | 3x per spin | €6.00 | 96.28% | High |
| Rainbow FeatureSpins A Rainbow symbol is guaranteed on every spin | 50x per spin | €100.00 | 96.36% | Medium |
| Luck of the Bandit 8 free spins, Golden Squares stay until a Rainbow activates them | 100x | €200.00 | 96.30% | Medium |
| All That Glitters Is Gold 12 free spins, Golden Squares stay for the whole bonus | 250x | €500.00 | 96.40% | Medium |

The volatility labels are Hacksaw's own and appear on each card. The cheapest option is the riskiest by that label: BonusHunt FeatureSpins are marked High, everything else Medium.
Le Bandit next to Le Pharaoh and Le King
Le Bandit started Hacksaw's Le series. Two of the later games are reviewed here: Le Pharaoh moves the Golden Squares onto paylines with sticky re-drops, and Le King keeps the clusters and adds jackpots.
| Game | Released | Wins | RTP | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Le Bandit | Aug 2023 | Clusters of 5+ | 96.34% | 10,000x |
| Le Pharaoh | Sep 2024 | 19 lines, sticky re-drops | 96.21% | 15,000x |
| Le King | Jun 2025 | Clusters, jackpot markers | 96.14% | 20,000x |
Each sequel raised the cap and lowered the default RTP a little. Le Bandit remains the simplest of the three to read: one grid, one activator, coins and pots. The full list of reviewed titles is on the Hacksaw demo home page.
Le Bandit questions
Answers taken from the in-game rules, the buy menu of the demo and Hacksaw's game page.
Can you buy Treasure at the End of the Rainbow?
No. It is the one bonus missing from the buy menu. It starts only when five FS scatters land in the same base game spin, and it gives 12 free spins with a Rainbow on every spin.
What is the best symbol in Le Bandit?
The top hat. A cluster of 13 or more pays 100x the bet, twice the beer or baguettes and four times the bear trap or cheese.
How much can a Gold Coin pay?
Gold Coins carry 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x or 500x the bet before any clover multiplier. Silver Coins pay 5x to 20x and Bronze Coins 0.2x to 4x.
Can the 10,000x max win land in the base game?
Yes. The rules list the base game and all three bonus modes as places where the cap can be reached. When it is, the round ends and any remaining free spins are lost.
Does the free demo pay the same as a casino?
The demo runs the 96.34% version with the same rules. A casino may have chosen 94.23%, 92.17% or 88.36% instead; the version in use is written in Game info.
Our take on Le Bandit
Le Bandit is the simplest of the Le games reviewed here. A spin is readable at a glance, the Rainbow gives the base game a real chance of a 20x to 50x hit, and the three bonuses differ in a way that matters. The weak spot is patience: most Golden Squares never meet a Rainbow, and in our run the balance drifted down for long stretches between coin showers. Start with BonusHunt off and watch how often the Rainbow actually turns up.
